Organic Breakfast Arnold Palmer Recipe
THE ARNOLD PALMER BACKSTORY
The story goes that legendary golfer Arnold Palmer invented the drink bearing his name, as he was purported to request and enjoy the cooling combo of iced tea and lemonade when he came in from the grounds. It makes sense—after a long day in the beating sun, a tall glass of brisk Organic Breakfast iced tea spiked with tart lemonade sounds like just the thing. We tip our golf caps to Arnold Palmer for this genius sipper.
DID AMERICA INVENT ICED TEA?
No, America didn’t invent iced tea, but we certainly popularized it. At first a novelty, iced tea really took hold in the 1870s, when it became a regular refreshment in hotels and rail stations. Its popularity grew when it was served at the 1904 World’s Fair in St. Louis. With the advent of modern refrigeration, iced tea made its debut in the American home—and it's been part of our lives ever since.
WHAT MAKES A GREAT ICED TEA?
Practically any tea can be made into iced tea, but it’s hard to beat our Organic Breakfast. This bold, eye-opening blend combines the malty taste of fine Assam tea, the crisp and bright taste of Nilgiri tea, and East African Rwanda tea’s brisk, citrusy, and toasty notes.
Designed to stand up to milk and sugar in a strong-brewed morning cup, Mighty Leaf Organic Breakfast also has enough structure to stand up to palate-muting ice. Make a big pot in the morning to enjoy through the day, hot or cold.
ICED TEA GETS AN UPGRADE—THE ARNOLD PALMER
June 10 is National Iced Tea Day, but there’s hardly a day all year we don’t reach for a glass of the stuff, to cool us down on steamy summer days or just to wake up our palates with a brisk sip. For the ultimate summer sipper, mix it with lemonade for that most refreshing of beverages, the Arnold Palmer.
