We're taking a moment to highlight and show our gratitude for Ali Vega, who has had an amazing journey with Peet's, starting with her time behind the coffeebar to her current role now as an Account Manager. Great coffee starts with great people; our Peetniks make Peet’s the special place it is, and we are so proud to help craft a path.

Elaborate on your career journey at Peet’s. What keeps you motivated to come to work every day?

I started at Peet’s in 2010 as a part time team member while in college in Southern California. I’ve been fortunate enough to grow with Peet’s, and I've taken on many different roles including Assistant Manager, Certified Training Manager, and District Leader. I left Peet’s in 2021 to explore another career path and realized Peet’s was where I was meant to be. I rejoined Peet’s in the Fall of 2022 and became part of the 'Away from Home' team as an Operations Account Manager. I’m so grateful to be in my new role and on an amazing team doing what I love. That’s one the many reasons I feel motivated every day.

What initially inspired you to join Peet’s, and how has your experience met your expectations?

Being born and raised in San Francisco, I grew up going to Peet’s in West Portal with my dad every weekend. When I moved away for school and was looking for a part time job, I saw my local Peet’s in Marina del Rey was hiring. My fond memories from home and the experiences I had throughout my childhood instantly made Peet’s feel like the perfect place for me, and it was that and so much more. Younger me could never imagine what my career at Peet’s has turned into!

What do you find most rewarding about your work, and how does it align with your personal values and goals?

As an Operations Account Manager, I’m able to connect with individuals from all walks of life; some who have never heard of Peet’s and others who have a strong relationship with the brand that spans decades. It’s my responsibility to build an authentic relationship with each individual and support them in running a successful Peet’s operation. Personally, I love meeting new people and creating connections, so I find my work very fulfilling. Additionally, I enjoy being challenged and find the most growth happens in those moments when I’m learning new things and managing multiple priorities; my role brings me all that and more! I couldn’t be happier.

What do you appreciate most about working at Peet’s, and what keeps you committed to our mission?

I love Peet’s culture, it’s truly unmatched. Not only do we have the highest-quality coffee out there, but the people that make up Peet’s is what makes it such a special place to work. As Peetniks, we’re able to be our authentic selves while pushing to be better every day. It’s easy to stay committed to a mission and company you believe in and feel proud to represent.

In your opinion, what role do you think Peet’s plays in making a positive impact on society and/or the industry? What do you think sets Peet’s apart from others?

I believe Peet’s provides a place for all walks of life. I love how inclusive Peet’s is, and as a company we’re continuing to find ways to improve and do more for our teams and communities.

What advice would you give to a Peetnik who wants to build a successful career and is looking for career development? 

I would tell any Peetnik looking to develop to advocate for themselves. Don’t be afraid to speak up and tell your leader you want to grow and develop. Be willing to put in the work, self-reflect on what’s going well and what needs improvement, and ask for feedback as much as possible. Don’t forget to have fun along the way!
