Flash Chilled Off the Grid Recipe
“Iced Coffee,” “Flash-Chilled,” “Cold Brew,” “Flash Brewed.”
Seems like a lot of different names for coffee over ice. And while some of these check similar boxes in the “I like my coffee cold” department, there are differences between them that can take your cold, refreshing, caffeine-delivery-system to new levels.
We’ve talked a bit about the difference between iced coffee and cold brew, but what’s the difference between a flash-chilled coffee recipe and a flash brew recipe? The good news: nothing! They are just different terms for the same thing: brewing coffee hot—to get those great aromatics—and super strong over ice.
By flash brewing (aka making flash-chilled iced coffee), what you’re doing is removing half the amount of water in the brew cycle, and instead adding the same amount of ‘water’ in the form of ice. So your incredible coffee doesn’t get watered down. Flash (quick) brew (strong) chill (ice). Drink (ahhhh).
