Could Midday Be the Best Time to Drink Coffee
For people who tell time by the number of coffees they’ve had, there’s probably not a “best time of day” to drink coffee (unless the answer is “Yes”). But morning really has a corner on the market when it comes to our favorite beverage, and it’s time to question that paradigm.
Srsly, morning can’t get all the glory when it comes to brewing and sipping. There are great times of day—and perfect coffees to drink—when it comes to the middle hours.
DROPPING SCIENCE WITH THE DRIP
Cortisol, a hormone that’s part of the body’s stress response and that increases alertness, typically peaks around 30—45 minutes after we wake up, so that gives us mid-to-late morning coffee people a great reason excuse to pour ourselves a tall one a few hours into our day, as our alertness hormones start to decline. A favorite blend to brew for a big bang? Obviously, it’s Big Bang. This medium roast is a fan favorite, in part because it’s a serious tropical blast of flavor in smooth, medium roast packaging.
ESPRESSO YOURSELF
Ounce per ounce, espresso has more coffee than a cup of drip, but you’re probably not drinking 6 ounces of espresso after your amazing lunch, right? So raise that pinkie finger and feel extra fancy with your post-meal little espresso. It might help with digestion, especially after a big meal. And will keep you on your toes for conversation, rather than in a food coma.
DO THE (COLD) BREW
It’s 1:00 p.m., do you know where your lunch break has gone? If you missed that big lunch with the boss and instead worked through your lunch hour, brain fog is starting to set in. Get up, stretch, and head out to the coffeebar to get some food into you and some Cold Brew into your system.
ALL ABOUT THE ICED
Not all cold coffee is the same, however. And we know that just like Cold Brew has its moment, nothing quite beats an iced coffee or an iced latte. Is an iced latte practically an afternoon treat in and of itself? Yes, it is. (And if you want a decaf iced latte, we’ve got you. No judgment, all coffee is good coffee around here, because we only use water process for our decafs).
So, if you’re a coffee person who tells time by coffee, let’s add these numbers to your clock. And for those who think of coffee as their favorite life hack already, your routine just got a lot more delicious.
